  • Play Her Precious LoveHer Precious Love

                  4.  Her Precious Love by Alix Dobkin

" I had a dream and it left me feeling

                           Caresses and whispers embracing me

The kiss of the goddess; the lips of the lover

The blessing of precious Woman's love.

                                 "Loving loving,   Woman loving

                                    Easy, warmly,   So peacefully"

Alix wrote this song in 1973. It was on her first album : Lavender Jane Loves Women. In her songbook she wrote that 'Her Precious Love' was the "closest" she came to "writing a religious song".... "that any 'being' or force which is capable of creating life MUST be female."

It's an empowering song for LESBIANS as it  brings to mind the possibility of our own true spiritual nature as we explore our love for each other.

  • Play Hurricane Hurricane

                     6. Hurricane by Beth York

" Late last night in the middle of the night

                               came a frightful gnawing pain.

Out of the blue alone without you,

it shook me again and again.

Caught in the act, no way to turn back

                              and in a way I can't explain.

I know a part of me died in a place deep inside

in the middle of a hurricane."

Beth wrote Hurricane after a dream she had while in Hurricane, Utah. We both had recently shifted our lives and our relationships. We  acknowledged our pain and the connections that remained even as we moved through our changes and into a new happiness and holding.

  • Heartsong
    Play HeartsongHeartsong

                10. Heartsong by Barbara Ester

" Breathing the snow air, walking on mountains,

feeling light headed, must be the highness.

The love touching spirit has given her blessing,

          speaking inside me giving direction.

To follow my heartsong, go with my longings,

Echoes in canyons across the valley,

with you I know I belong here

with you I know I'm home

                               As the river flows......"

Following my hearts journey I went to Utah with Beth. Trusting, finding comfort in nature; the river and the mountains, I embraced my new home. I wrote this song as a healing - opening to these changes in my life.

  • Play So FamiliarSo Familiar

                      11. So Familiar by Barbara Ester & Beth York

                                "There's something about our love,

                                    something about this fascination

Something about our love, so familiar.

                              There's something about our touch,

Something when we embrace each other

There's something about our love, so familiar.

                                There's something about our love,

                            Something about this deep connection.

Something about our love, so familiar."

This song so perfectly describes the way we feel. One idea, a

combination of words in expression, of  our journey together.

  • Play RememberRemember

              13. Remember by Beth York

" I hear you, in the memory of melody I hear you

The music will linger through my life time

and remind me. Our voices together, weave

the harmony and beauty of connection.

The gifts I take as I leave this place will remain

forever in my heart. You will be there, on wings

in the air, in my song we won't be far apart.

                                                    Remember......"
